Dates: Counselor Orientation: Sunday, June 24, 2018 beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Rural Health Careers Camp 2018: Monday, June 25 - Thursday, June 28, 2018 

Stipend: Camp Counselors will receive a stipend of $800 for their time and assistance with the camp


  • Have completed at least sophomore year of undergraduate studies

  • Pursuing a health-related profession

  • Mature

  • Responsible

  • Energy and enthusiasm for educational activities

  • Preference given to RAs or people with previous camp counselor experience

The following hospital participating in this experience are Dr. John Warner Hospital in Clinton, Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield, Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon, Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, Paris Community Hospital in Paris, Pinckneyville Community Hospital in Pinckneyville, and Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. The ideal candidate is from a rural community and currently enrolled in health profession program, possess a strong interest in rural healthcare, and minimum qualifications are students who will have completed their sophomore year of undergraduate school by the start of the Rural Health Experience. Preference goes to upperclassmen students and those already in graduate or professional programs.
